Map Provider - Management

The map provider management can create/delete and modify map providers.

The management is located in the preference dialog which can be opened with Tools/Preferences or with the options icon from the toolbar.

Map provider list

This list contains all map providers which are installed in the application.

Columns

Map Provider Type	C...Custom, W...WMS, P...Profile, I...Internal
Map Provider	Name of the map provider
Offline Folder
Layer	Number of layers for WMS map provider
Files/MBytes	Offline folder info

Map Provider Types

Custom	Provides tile images from a HTTP server
WMS	Provides tile images from a WMS server
Profile	A map tile image can be composed from custom and wms map providers. Custom or wms map providers must be created before a profile map provider can be created.
Internal	These map providers are built into the product and cannot be customized like the other map providers

Common properties

The common property fields can be edited depending on the selected map provider.

Fields

Name	Name of the map provider. When a new map provider is created, the offline folder and unique id is set automatically when these fields are not yet modified manually.
Description	Description of the map provider. This field will be automatically filled when a wms map provider is created.
Offline Folder	Folder where offline images are saved, this folder is a subfolder of the common offline folder
Unique Id	Each map provider must have a unique id to distinguish different map providers
Type	Type of the map provider
Url	Custom map provider: Defined url with it's parameters. WMS map provider: Capabilities url of the wms server.

Actions

Update

Updates modified fields in the map provider.

When the offline folder is modified, all contained images in the old offline folder will be deleted.

When the unique id is modified, the map profiles will be updated to reflect the modifications.

Cancel

Revert modifications for the common properties

Map provider actions

These actions are enabled depending on the selected map provider.

Edit	Edit map provider specific properties, common properties can be edited in the area below the map provider list
New Custom	Creates a new custom map provider. *)
New WMS	Creates a new wms map provider. *) First a dialog is opened to enter a capabilities url. When the url is valid a new wms map provider is created with data from the wms.
New Profile	Creates a new profile map provider. *)
New WMS with Drag&Drop	When a capabilities url from a wms server is dropped into this area, the corresponding wms map provider is created
Delete Offline Images	Deletes offline images for the selected map provider, this feature is enabled when the offline info is updated
Import	Imports map providers which are exported with the export action in MyTourbook. **)
Export	Exports the selected map provider, when a profile map provider is exported, all map providers which are displayed in the profile will also be exported
Import Map Provider with Drag&Drop	Imports a map provider with drag&drop, local files or urls from files in the internet are accepted. **)
Delete Map Provider...	Deletes the selected map provider and all it's offline files. Removes the map provider from profile map providers when it's used

*) when a new map provider is created, the common properties must be entered first before the map provider specific properties can be modified with the Edit action or with doubleclick at the selected map provider.

**) imported map providers are checked if they can be imported, a message is displayed when the import is not sucessfull

Common actions

OK	Saves the modified map providers
Cancel	Not all actions can be canceled, when a map provider is deleted this action cannot be reverted

Offline actions

These actions are enabled when the offline map is enabled.

	Updates offline info for all not assessed map providers
	Updates offline info for the selected map provider
	Updates offline info for all map providers
	Cancel offline update action
