Because of substancial changes in the calendar profile management, new default profiles are created.

The old profiles are still available with all it's customized properties. They can be used or deleted and appear in the profile list with an empty name and a DEFAULT config.

FIT Import

  • Import enhanced altitude+speed values
  • Saving speed data has changed:
    By default, speed values will not be saved anymore (when availabel), this can be configured in the preferences
  • Reorganized fit import preferences

 

Bugfix

FIT Calorie Values

Until now, ALL calorie values from the FIT import, are saved in kcal  and not in calories, so they are too small by the factor 1000. Calories are used internally for the maths.

 

This version contains the new tool...

Multiply calories value by 1000...

...in the tour book view to fix the wrong saved values.

 

With the FIT SDK, the calorie values can be read only in kcal,  so multiplying by 1000 does not change the accuracy.

 

Additional UI updates for the calories values

The calendar is not new but greatly enhanced, the old calendar documentation is not yet updated

  • Calendar layout can be customized with > 80 parameters, a profile can be based on different default configurations
  • Show tour tooltip for hovered tours
  • Drag & drop (with copy) a manually created tour to another day, this is logged in the tour log view
  • Duplicate a tour, it copies only these values:
    Person, Device ID, Start Time, Title, Description, Tags, Tour Type
  • Zoom in/out with Ctrl/Shift and mouse wheel or +/- keys
  • Log calendar profile modifications: -DlogCalendarProfile
    All default profiles are created with this mechanism
  • Optimized performance when loading day/week data, e.g. one week from ~200ms to ~1ms

8. December 2017 - Because of some feedback, the default configurations will be enhanced. When you do some customizations, they will be lost with the next version.

The current version was published very early without much user experience.

10. November 2017 - It seems that another bug was also introduced in this version, GPX waypoints can be imported only with 17.9.0 version

It's just like the current weather, since 1 week no sun, just rain, fog and high fog :-(

24. October. 2017 - When you have already installed this update, reinstall version 17.9.0, this will fix the problem until the next version 17.next is published.

Windows

The installer program will remove the old version.

Linux

Delete all old program files (17.9.1) before installing version 17.9.0

 

When you do not use the 2.5D map, you can still use version 17.9.1
Bugfix

Week of Year

All existing tours can contain a wrong week number and/or week year. This problem can now easily be fixed by running the action Update calendar week in all tours in the preferences General/Calendar Week (restart app after update).

Flickering

The 2.5D map could be flickering when moving the mouse and using a NVIDIA graphics card.

This problem can be solved by setting the Buffer-flipping mode to Use block transfer in the NVIDIA Control Panel, this is also documented here https://github.com/mapsforge/vtm/issues/257

Uncluttered design

  • Paint with fill color, gradient color is disable
  • Fill color is computed as an average of the gradient bright and gradient dark color
  • Top and bottom borders are disabled
  • Left and right border width changed from 2px to 1 px

2.5 D Tour Map

1st Time Start

When opening this map the 1st time, it may show no map, the map view is white.

Press key <G> then it shows the tile grid and you know the map works.

Because the default map provider can be very slow, therefore it also takes some seconds or more until the map tiles are being loaded.


These features are currently available in the 2.5D map

  • Navigate map
  • Show multiple tours
  • Show/hide map layers
  • Select map provider
  • Keep these settings when the map is reopened
    • Map position, tilt and rotation

This map is still VERY experimental !

It is far from feature complete and there are still some raw edges.

  • When map is resized, it can be displayed just black, moving it slightly will show it again
  • Sometimes it needs the workaround by moving the map slightly that a tour or a newly selected tour is displayed in the map
  • When multiple tours are selected then it can take some seconds until the tours are rendered. This is done in the background and is not visible, the map can still be navigated and sometimes the selected tours appear.
  • To log the map http requests, add this to the command line
    -debug -consolelog -vmargs -Dorg.slf4j.simpleLogger.defaultLogLevel=DEBUG

Problem with Linux

When the calendar area of a date widget in a filter property is hovered with the mouse and the calendar area is outside of the slideout border, then the calendar area will be closed.


Workarounds

  • Enlarge the slideout
  • Enter date with keyboard (old school)

 

Background

Linux creates a shell for each date widget and this shell cannot be easily controled from outside of the widget.

The date widget is differently implemented in Windows which do not have this issue.
